BS fire classification's description

This is a standard of British origin which measures the flammability of elements constituting upholstered seats. In the case of a fabric a cushion will be reconstituted using a reference foam. The standard also defines the ignition source. There are eight such sources, but three are used most commonly. These are, in order of strictness: Source 0: cigarette Source 1: match Source 5: bonfire. The result of the test is given as a fail or a pass. All fabrics in the Velto range which were subjected to this test passed it with source 5. The classification reports are drawn up by certified laboratories, and are of unlimited duration.
